/OK, so you'd probably not be so dumb as to try and cram a Paris sightseeing trip into four hours. And because you're not that dumb, you're probably also smart enough to research various power needs before embarking on a year-long (at least) journey. Well... you'd not be us then.

/Sports are huge parts of the pub scene here in the French countryside, but they seem to be viewed with a completely different mindset. Walk into just about any bar or pub in the States and you’ll find televised sports. That’s the same here, but with two key differences: volume and variety.

/In case you've missed Sheila's photos, we're across the lake (more of a pond) from a castle. Not a damsel-in-distress-in-the-high-tower castle, but a castle all the same. It's mostly in ruin now, but it makes for a nice backdrop. Look up Le château de Corlay if you're curious.

/Relax Bar is a pretty unassuming place. Situated right off the highway, it gets a fair amount of traffic just from people buying a pack of smokes. We visited once and found their beer selection limited, but not out of line for the small town life.

/When we arrived in France, our host, Bill, drove us around the countryside, showing some of the local flavor. Though he’d be taking his car with him on their vacation, he left us their caravan (that’s an RV to those in the States) if we needed to get out and about, with the warning that “it’s bloody well hard on petrol” ... or something to that effect. Friday was shaping up to be a clear but cold day, so ...
