Evo Is The Opening Keynote at TBEX Asia Pacific 2016!

We'll be in Manila in just a few weeks where Evo has the honor of being the opening keynote presenter for TBEX Asia 2016. And yes, there's still time to register! 

What the hell is TBEX? I'm glad you asked:

TBEX is the largest conference and networking event for travel bloggers, online travel journalists, new media content creators, travel brands and industry professionals. Each year, TBEX partners with fantastic host destinations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific to bring the travel industry’s most creative minds together to learn, network and do business.

What the hell is Evo going to talk about? Another great question, and one that lets me slip out of this silly 3rd-person narrative.

People have some to expect the unexpected from my keynotes and presentations. No, not Gallagher-level antics. I prefer my "splash zone" to encompass the entirety of the audience, but I smash perspectives instead of watermelons. In Manila, I'll continue a theme I started at the TBEX conference in Bangkok last October: Dare To Be Different. That's not the official title of the talk, but that's the idea. There will be plenty of people talking about how to make money (for riches or survival) as a travel blogger. There will be plenty of sessions on how to use the latest app or gizmo to unleash your passions (whatever the hell that means.) And there will be plenty of talks to inspire people to sell everything and travel the world, just like they (we) did.

I'm not going to do that. Instead, as opening keynote, I see my role as shaking people out of their comfort zones and giving them permission to bring their own unique voice, talents, and way of looking at the world to a space that's quickly becoming commoditized/democratized, for good or for ill.

Of course, that sounds all high-minded and esoteric. But if you've seen my other talks, there are plenty of moments of levity. Though I never once swing a giant wooden hammer.
