Some Thai holidays sound like references to Airplane. And some international Couchsurfing incidents sound like… well, hell. We dish out a taste of both in this week’s podcast episode.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Thailand! Yes, they celebrate the holiday here. Sheila’s getting into the groove of her new job, but isn’t quite ready to start sharing stories of the workplace just yet. It’s a pretty tech-advanced school, just in case they’re listening...
In lieu of that, we share two other stories on today’s program, both about Thailand:
1. Over Makha Bucha?

Now that we’re full-time Bangkok residents, we need to stop being surprised by public holidays. Not just those specific to Thailand with odd names we’ve little hope of pronouncing correctly the first time, but of their adoption of “our” holidays as well.
2. Worst Couchsurfing Ever

April & Karina are the dynamic duo behind Wisdom Trails. We sat down with April last October and got a few stories out of her. They’re big on the Couchsufing circuit, which has led them to some interesting adventures. When you hear her say “sharing a bed with a strange man”, your thoughts will probably go a little on the blue side. What really happened is less sexy but a whole lot funnier. Funnier to hear about, at least.
And That's The Show!
We’re coming up on the end of our pre-recorded traveler’s stories, with only four or five left. So here’s the question: Should we record more?
Obviously, we’re connected to lots of other travelers with great stories to tell. Our question: Do you want to hear them on our show? Or do you just want the two of us sharing our story each week? If you’ve an opinion one way or another… let us know with a comment, a tweet, or something else. You know where to find us.
Special thanks to Kevin MacLeod of Incompetech.com for our theme music Upbeat Forever and all of the music used in this episode.
